Parent Participation is the active involvement of parents in the planning and development of services provided to parents, children and young people
Participation is different from being given information or taking part in consultation. Participation is about empowering parents to take an active role in influencing what services do, how they do it and to what standard
Our Voice Counts! was established in 2008 and is the local Parent Participation Forum in North Somerset.
We are a parent-led group for families with children and young people aged 0–25 with disabilities or additional needs.
We believe that our children should be able to reach their potential and experience the full range of life opportunities by ensuring that suitable and appropriate services are available when they need them.
Our Voice Counts! enables parents to get involved in service planning and decision making so that services meet the needs of families with disabled children.
