The Brigstowe Project is a front-line, responsive charity based in Bristol. We provide free confidential support, information and advice to people in and around Bristol living with or affected by HIV.

● Difficulty coming to terms with a new diagnosis

Sexual Health Services

PROVIDER SPECIALISMS
 HIV awareness and prevention to at risk groups and professionals working with people at risk
 Information, advice and advocacy for people living with HIV
 One-to-one peer support for people living with HIV who are newly diagnosed or struggling with their diagnosis
 Specialist migrant advice and support service for people with HIV who do not have access to public funds
 Holistic support to manage independent living with HIV
 Peer support group with the aim of skills development and reducing isolation. ENVISAGED ROLE WITHIN THE NEW BRISTOL, NORTH SOMERSET & SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICE (INCLUDING GEOGRAPHICAL COVER)
 HIV awareness and prevention involving HIV positive speakers
 Development & delivery of targeted prevention work to people from African & Caribbean communities including faith communities to reduce late diagnosis.
 Based in central Bristol, with outreach covering all areas of the three local authorities.
 Sub-contractor to a lead provider. We would be happy to work with another HIV provider to ensure that all high risk groups are reached. OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION
 We are commissioned to provide services in Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire.
 Strong reputation locally amongst both people who have used our service and organisations. Good links into the three local authority areas through partnership working, our client base, staff and trustees.
 Strong user involvement throughout the organisation including on our Board of Trustees.
 Founded by local organisations, local Board of Trustees, 20 year track record of delivering quality HIV services.
 Good reputation and close working relationship with regional HIV treatment centre at Southmead Hospital.
