Children's Playlink provides support to childcare groups, vulnerable children, children with special needs and provides play opportunities in areas of deprivation within South Gloucestershire.
Play/youth schemes for children with additional needs
● Funding from South Gloucestershire Council has given us the opportunity to offer holiday playschemes for disabled children and young people. Schemes run in Yate, Little Stoke, Kingswood, and Thornbury.
● Funding is available to support children and young people to attend mainstream play or leisure activities in their local community. The funding will pay for a Buddy to attend to support the child or young person.
● Aimed at 18-25 year olds to aid them in independent living, including peer to peer socialization and relationships, by providing activities and trips typically enjoyed by other people within that age range.
● The Teenage Workshops aim to provide interesting and engaging age appropriate activities for the 13-18 year olds. All of the activities are fully adaptable so ensure all teenagers are able to participate regardless of their abilities. Workshops include such activities as Cooking, Graffiti, Forest Skills, Play in a Day. . . All children are appropriately supervised and the groups are led by a specialist brought in for the chosen activity.
