PhysAQUA is a service providing you with individual advice from a physiotherapist on exercises in water in your local Sports Centre or swimmings. In addition, if you are disabled, it provides you with the opportunity to learn to swim, either individually or in a group, whatever your level of disability.
The aim of the sessions is to give you advice and teach you exercises specifically suited to you and your condition, and/or teach you to swim, so you are able to continue on your own to improve and maintain your health & fitness long term.
Because of the support the water offers, many conditions benefit from exercises in water:
* Joint and muscle problems, acute or long-standing, including arthritis
* Stroke, head injury, spinal injury and other neurological problems such as MS and CP
* Balance problems
* ME and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Currently PhysAQUA can be arranged during any public session in Sports Centres in Bath, Keynsham and Midsomer Norton.
