Description

Small local Legal Service Commission funded advice service providing free advice and information to the general public from St Pauls and surrounding areas by drop-in and appointment. Covering a wide range of issues including benefits, housing, debts and employment.
Home visits available on request.
Specialist advice appointments are available throughout the rest of the week for welfare rights, debt and housing.

On Monday afternoons they host Somali language advice sessions through their sister organisation, the Somali Advice Project. They also provide a full Somali interpreting service at their drop-in session.
They can arrange for interpreters in most languages for pre-booked appointments.

Specialist Housing advice is provided by CHAS Housing Aid outreach, by appointment Tel 0117 922 5931.

Areas covered: St Pauls, Easton, St Judes, St Agnes, Montpelier, St Werburghs and further afield.

Welfare benefits
We offer a specialist advice, information and casework service on issues affecting your benefits. This includes helping you to work out what benefits you are entitled to, challenging decisions and maximising your income.

Debt and money
Specialist advice, information and casework service on debt issues. We can help with budgeting, income maximisation, options for dealing with your debts and can negotiate with creditors.

Employment
Basic advice and information on employment issues such as dismissal, wages, holiday pay, redundancy, disciplinary matters, grievance procedures, discrimination at work. We can refer you to specialist services if needed.

Housing
We can provide basic advice and information on a range of housing issues such as: rent arrears, notice to quit, eviction, harassment from landlords, withheld deposits, disrepair, housing transfers or housing waiting list issues.

Immigration
We offer advice, information and casework on immigration matters and are regulated by the OISC to Level 1. We can advise on: British Citizenship, Settlement Applications, Spouse/Unmarried Partner Visas and much more.

Other advice
We also offer advice on a range of consumer, discrimination, domestic violence and community care issues.
