Action on Hearing Loss - South West (previously Royal National Institute for Deaf)
Through our outreach information service, we provide face-to-face information across the South West by giving talks and presentations, and attending exhibitions.
We work hard to reach people who are isolated and have little access to information on deaf awareness issues, equipment, services and benefits.
We also liaise with health, social services and residential care professionals to:
Improve awareness of the needs of people who are deaf or hard of hearing and -
give them information on how to improve access to the equipment and services that are available
Talks are given to nursing home staff, local community groups, health professionals and anyone wanting to find out more about deafness.
To request a talk or exhibition stand in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, Channel Isles, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, North West Somerset, Somerset, South Gloucester, Swindon, or Wiltshire contact:

Is there a cost for these services?
As a charity we don't usually charge for talks or an information stand at events, a donation is always welcome. Some of our other National services do have a cost and these would be discussed ahead of any agreement.

Services that increase accessibility
We aim to help all people with a hearing loss to gain access to the services they need by providing information on using accessible equipment, requesting communication support and how to advice other organisations on making provisions for people with a hearing loss.
