Activity takes place at many different venues. Stepping Out Theatre works with mental health service users. They produce large scale community plays where service users work alongside experienced actors, as well as smaller scale plays with professional actors, on mental health themes. They have won two National awards for their work and have performed in Bristol, Bath, Worcester, Frome, Weston-Super-Mare and London. They run regular workshops in drama, dance, music, movement and creative writing and can offer experience in all aspects of theatre. The company was founded in 1997 by members of Bristol Survivors Poetry.
This group is affiliated to the National Survivors Poetry network and offers a regular creative writing group on the last Thursday of every month; 2pm - 4pm at Grove Road Day Centre, Grove Road, Clifton. The Company has no building of their own, but only use accessible buildings (e.g. The Hope Centre, St Werburghs Community Centre, Petherton Mental Health Resource Centre, Grove Road Day Centre)
