Description

Provider of Supported Sheltered housing for older people in the Henleaze and Redland areas of Bristol and in Easter Compton, South Gloucestershire.

A fourth house is due for completion during 2014 when an 18 unit, purpose-built house will be opened in Hanham, South Gloucestershire.

Supported Sheltered Housing is a real alternative for older people who want to maintain as independent a lifestyle as possible, but would benefit from the support of catering and housekeeping services. The core benefits of an Abbeyfield House are - Independence & Privacy - Companionship & Support.

All rooms and flats are fully en-suite and weekly costs are inclusive of all services including three meals a day, all utility and household bills, council tax and staff costs. Communal dining facilities are provided in all houses and all houses have communal living rooms. A minibus and handyman service is also offered free of charge.

Our Houses:
Abbeyfield Bristol Society has recently opened a fully refurbished Victorian house in Redland including a mix of 10 x one bed apartments and 7 x large studio rooms, all with full en-suite facilities, fitted kitchenette and carpets and curtains.

Westbury Road has 25 resident places and is close to the amenities of Henleaze Road. This house has had a living room and garden room extension built during 2012 and is in the process of updating all private en-suites with large step-in showers replacing baths .

Easter Compton house is in a quiet location in the village, with up to 14 resident places. There is one 1 bedroom flat and 12 studio rooms, all with private en-suite shower rooms

Access information in the houses:
All houses have a lift to all floors and access with level walkways are provided in all gardens.

All houses have a member of staff on the premises throughout the night, who are on call should any resident require assistance.

Cost information

Abbeyfield is open to all irrespective of means. Costs are often supported by housing benefits or other entitlements due to residents. Other residents self-fund. Details of costs are available from the central office.

Fees are inclusive of all utility bills for gas, water and electricity, 3 meals a day and all staff costs including 24 hour housekeeping staff on the premises and on call. Weekly charges range from £300 to £442 depending on the size of the accommodation and the house. These costs are subject to review annually in April.
