Local Information & Advice Services

There are various local information and advice services across Bristol and South Gloucestershire that can support you around employment and financial support.

Bristol:

  • WRAMAS – Offers advice, consultancy, information and training, to a range of clients, services and organisations in Bristol around money, debt and welfare issues. They’re still running their services so get in touch if you need support.
  • North Bristol Advice Centre – An independent community advice and support organisation providing free and independent advice for people in Bristol and South Gloucestershire across topics such as debt and welfare, money management, employability, among others. There service is now only offered over the phone.
  • Citizens Advice Bureau Bristol – An independent charity that provides free, impartial advice and information on a range of issues, from benefits, employment to housing and debt. The service has stopped all face to face contact but is still available over phone and email.
  • Talking Money – Provides free, independent debt advice and financial education. A registered charity dedicated to helping people out of financial hardship and on with their lives. No longer offering face to face appointments, but the service is still running via phone and email.
  • Shelter – Specialising in supporting people with any housing or homelessness related issues, they’re still running their national phone advice lines. Shelter has put together this page of information covering various concerns – from benefits to evictions – you might have around housing as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • Bristol City Council’s local crisis and prevention fund – If you’re in financial crisis or need an emergency payment for things like food, gas and electricity, or household goods, there is help available. Visit the website for more information, to contact and apply.

South Gloucestershire:
