We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating. At Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire we believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, independent advice. That’s why we’re here: to give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem.

Our local, independent charity offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. When we say we’re for everyone, we mean it. People rely on us because we’re independent and totally impartial.

No one else sees so many people with so many different kinds of problems, and that gives us a unique insight into the challenges people are facing today. With the right evidence, we can show big organisations – from companies right up to the government – how they can make things better for people.

Just give us a ring and we’ll point you in the right direction for the information you need to take the next steps in solving your problems. Where we can, we’ll try to give you the right resources to manage the situation yourself, by providing factsheets and referring you to reliable websites, but if that does not suit you or you need further help we can arrange to see you by appointment in your local bureau.

  • Is there a cost for these services? yes
  • Cost information: Calls to this service cost the same as calling 01 and 02 numbers. They will be included as part of a mobile allowance or a landline package. You will be charged for calls not included in your landline package or if you go over your mobile allowance. Calls will also be charged if you do not have a call package with your provider. For specific call charge details please check with your own provider. You will need to have a local landline number handy, ideally an 01454 number, so that your call can be identified as coming from South Gloucestershire and put through to us as your local bureau.
  • How can people access this service? For face to face advice, drop-in to one of our open door sessions: Yate: Mon 4:30-6:30pm, Tue 10am-3pm & Fri 10am - 1pm. Cadbury Heath: Mon 11am - 2pm. Bradley Stoke: Wed 10am - 12. Thornbury: Tue 10am - 1pm & Thu 10am - 12:30 Staple Hill: Thu 9:30am - 12:30 & Fri 10am - 1pm.
