Redcatch Community Garden is a Community Benefit Society with Charitable Status. Our founder members are local people, all with specialist knowledge, experience and ambition to work together for the benefit of the local community (we are all volunteers).
We provide opportunities for people with diverse needs, abilities, generations and cultures; all of whom are able to share knowledge and skills in a fruitfulness environment. In our community we want people to have access to healthy, fresh, nutritious food, to connect with nature, learn where their food comes from and how to grow it.
We have a lovely ‘Roots’ cafe, serving great refreshments and wholesome yummy snacks. The garden is ever developing and we have many events to bring people together. Pop along to see us! We’re open Mon-Fri 9am – 4pm and most weekends.
We hire out various parts of the garden for private parties and events at a very reasonable price.
The garden relieves social isolation and provides well-being for all.
We offer bespoke learning opportunities, designed and dedicated to empower local people to recognise their strengths and further develop knowledge, skills and experience.
We offer a range of FREE courses to local people over 19 years old, of mixed abilities, to increase skills and improve health and well-being. In response to local request, we can also offer a diverse range of courses, workshops and drop-in sessions for adults (which we charge a nominal fee), plus a programme of ‘family learning’, where children and parents/guardians learn together.
Our Learning Programme includes courses such as Cooking on a Budget, Confidence & Self-Esteem, Healthy Eating, Exploring the Great Outdoors, Story Telling, Creative Writing, Knitting, Arts & Crafts, Employability Skills, Yoga.
If you’re interested in any of our workshops, courses or drop-in sessions, please get in touch. Or for any general enquiries call us on: 07305690667
