St Mungo’s – Bristol Men’s Mental Health Crisis House

Who we are

The Men’s Crisis House supports men experiencing mental health problems where hospital admission might be the only other alternative available. The service provides ten bedrooms in a large house with 24 hour support. Communal healthy meals are provided in a shared kitchen, while residents are also supported to prepare their own meals and encouraged to take part in the day-to-day running and decision making of the house. Men can stay in the house for up to four weeks and will, at the end of their stay, then have to move from the house into appropriate accommodation. The Crisis House is managed by St Mungo’s.

Who can refer

People can self-refer to the Men’s Crisis House if you have recently been working with a mental health team where a full assessment of your health and risks have taken place. The Men’s Crisis House also accepts referrals from professionals, for example, those working in social care or the police.

Where we are

The house is based in the St James Priory Complex in central Bristol, right next to the bus station.
