The Hive Avon works with people with learning disabilities and autism, their parents and carers across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.
The Hive provides; a social drop-in club, discos, arts and crafts, dance and music sessions, an advocacy service and training and education activities.
The drop-in centre, runs at 322 Two Mile Hill Road, Kingswood, BS15 1AJ. The drop-in is open:
- Monday: 12:30pm-4pm
- Tuesday: 12:30pm-4pm
- Wednesday: 12:30pm-4pm, 7pm-9pm
- Friday: 10am-4pm
- Saturday: 10am-4pm
Pottery: Monday 10:30am-12pm, £6, booking required
Music: Tuesday 10:30am-12pm, £6, spaces available
Drama: Wednesday 10:30am-12pm, £6, spaces available
Discos: last Tuesday of the month, 7pm-9pm, £5, no booking required
Hive Hangout: second Monday of the month, 7pm-9pm, cost varies £3-£6 depending on whether their is food provided, no booking required
We run various training sessions throughout the year, ranging from BuILT (Building Independent Lives Together), independent living and money skills training, to a relationships and sexual health course. There can be other support groups and training available – see website for details: www.thehiveavon.org.uk.

The Hive is now running an independent living project working to help people with learning disabilities lead more independent lives. There will be support groups, training events and advocacy services available.
