Bristol City Council Local Crisis and Prevention Fund

We can help you in a financial crisis by:

  • giving you an emergency payment for essentials like food, gas or electricity
  • supplying household goods if you can’t afford basic furniture or white goods, like a fridge or a cooker

You won’t have to pay anything back.

You can apply for an emergency payment generally once in a 12 month period and once in a 24 month period for household goods.

We may consider a second payment in exceptional circumstances. This is discretionary and evidence of your circumstances may be requested.

  • You can apply if you:
live within the Bristol City Council area
have a crisis or emergency meaning you have no money for basic living needs or need essential household items
have no other means of support through family, friends or donations

Apply online. If you need help using our services or need access to a computer to contact us, you can visit the Citizen Service Point.
