Stoke Gifford Parish Council Parish Councils are the first tier of local government and the closest to the community they serve. As a tier of local government they are elected bodies, with discretionary powers and rights laid down by Parliament to represent their communities and provide services for them. Stoke Gifford Parish is located in the north of Bristol and to the west of the M32 and south of the M4 motorway. The parish’s 1717 acres comprises Stoke Gifford, Little Stoke, Harry Stoke, UWE, Stoke Park and the Cheswick housing development. There are twelve elected councillors who were duly elected in May 2019 to serve its 15,500 plus inhabitants for a term of 4 years.
