Access Able After 20 years of running a construction business, Bob founded Access Able in 2003. Prompted by the sad loss of his father who experienced mobility problems in his later years, his building work increasingly focused on the disability sector – making life-changing adaptations to people’s homes. Seeing the impact that alterations to bathrooms and kitchens, as well as the fitting of mobility ramps and handrails had on the quality of customers’ lives, was a big influence on his decision to establish Access Able. Access Able is very much a family owned and run business. Bob’s mum, Audrey always helped out behind the shop counter until she sadly passed away in 2010. Other family members have worked and helped at the business over the years, and currently his daughter Angela keeps a tight rein on the company finances, daughter Hayley runs the website, eBay store and advertising, and son-in-law Mark is the friendly shop manager you’ll meet when you visit us instore! Based in South Bristol, Access Able offers an extensive range of mobility equipment and home care products to assist the elderly, disabled and infirm.
