(1) Henbury & Brentry Community Centre | FacebookThe Vench (Lockleaze Adventure Playground)-07710 392 078The Vench Romney Ave, Lockleaze, Bristol BS7 9TBFOODclubEach week we receive a delivery of surplus supermarket food from Fareshare, a charity which rescues good food from landfill and diverts it to local community projects.Families living in Lockleaze ward can join FOODclub for £1 a year. As a member, you can pick up a share of food for £4 every Friday between 9:30-11:00am. There is usually a mix of fresh meat, dairy, fruit and vegetables – we estimate a share would be worth £20-25 if bought at a supermarket. Please note that we have no control over the different foods that arrive each week and we are therefore unable to allow people to pick and choose according to their personal tastes (although we try our best to cater for allergies and dietary requirements). This is a chance to try new foods you wouldn’t usually buy, whilst helping to reduce good food going to landfill. FOODclub is a partnership project with Family Action and Fareshare South West.To join FOODclub, please come to The Vench on Fridays between 9:30-11:00am to complete a registration form.FOOD Club (Southmead Children’s Centre) – 0117 377 2343FOOD Club, Doncaster Road, Bristol BS10 5PWThursdays: 11am-1pm Take-home food bags/boxes for families with young children & Food Club volunteers. £1 members hip, £3.50 per shop.
