Housing – Complex Casework We undertake complex casework & representation for a wide range of problems including where you are at risk of losing your home, you are homeless, or your home is in poor condition (disrepair).We cover Bristol, South Glos, B&NES and North Somerset, and our advice is freeTypes of issues we can help with if you are eligible for legal aid:Homeless applications, reviews and appealsRepossession of your home where there are alleged rent arrears or other breaches of tenancy, including anti-social behaviourInjunctions for anti-social behaviourApplications to suspend warrants of evictionUnlawful evictionMortgage possession proceedingsDisrepair affecting your healthAdvice about your succession rightsWe cannot assist with boundary disputes or advise landlords.If you are at risk of losing your home please contact us as soon as possible – even if we can’t help we can suggest others who may be able to.Court Duty SchemeWe work with Shelter Bristol to ensure that you can get advice from an independent housing solicitor if you are a tenant or mortgagor with a hearing on the possession list at Bristol County Court (every Tuesday) and Bath County Court (monthly on a Friday).We can provide advice before the hearing, speak to the other side on your behalf, and represent you in the hearing (so you don’t need to speak to the judge). We can also suggest debt/benefits/other advice that could help you. If you require advice from the duty solicitor, please bring all relevant documents including court paperwork, and arrive at court at least 30 minutes before your hearing time.
