Off the Record provides a range of FREE, CONFIDENTIAL and INDEPENDENT services for children and young people that support the development of their emotional health and well-being.
Children and Young People can easily access our services and find someone to listen to them, understand and help them to find their own way to improve their emotional heath and well-being. We also promote and support children and young people informing and improving services that impact on their lives.
Our service empowers children and young people to make informed choices in order to increase their well-being and independence. We provide the means by which children and young people resolve issues and thereby have the opportunity to reach their goals and influence change.
Domestic Violence & Abuse
Currently this project is focused on prevention education work in schools, raising awareness of domestic violence and teenage relationship abuse.
Off the Record offers a weekly youth group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) young people and young people questioning their sexuality age 13 to 21 years who live in the Bath and North East areas (B&NES).
The group is called SPACE and meets every Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm at Off the Record, Manvers Street, Bath. For further information about this group you can contact our LGBT youth worker Lisa Benham by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
Sometimes children and young people simply want to talk to someone who is outside of their situation. Sometimes they want something to change.
Off the Record provides Listening Support Services that provide information, support and counselling for children and young people. Young people might have a range of issues which affect their lives.
-Listening Support appointments are available in our centres for ages 10 – 25
-The Counselling Service is available in our centres and community venues for ages 10 – 25
-The School Outreach Service is available to students in a number of B&NES secondary schools – it also delivers workshops in schools for all children at participating schools
Shout Out! is an Advocacy Service for children and young people aged 0 – 18 years old, who work, live or study in Bath and North East Somerset.
We give young parents and parents to be – both mothers and fathers – information, support and practical assistance however it’s needed.
Off the Record is launching a new service to support young people aged 11 – 18 who have experienced or witnessed domestic violence and / or abuse.
The group is called 382 Project. It is a free and confidential group that provides a safe place to talk about your experiences, work through feelings, ways of coping and moving forward with your life.
We are currently gathering young people to take part in this group. The group will meet for 2 hours a week, over an 8 week period.
If you are between 11 – 18, you can refer yourself by calling Fi Hanaway on 01225 312481, sending a text to 07841986064 or emailing email@example.com. Or, you can go to someone you know and trust, like a teacher, youth worker, parent or carer and ask them to refer you.
The Off the Record Participation Service works with a number of different organisations to think of ways that children and young people can help professionals make services better for them. This can mean supporting children and young people to help design, improve and influence services which they are using or would like to use.
