
A positive pregnancy test can cause different emotions.
There are three options to consider:
- Continue with the pregnancy
- Choose to have an abortion (end the pregnancy)
- Continue with the pregnancy and arrange for the baby to be adopted

Choosing to continue with the pregnancy
- Book in with a midwife – you can do this online or by phone: Badger Notes – Self-refer your pregnancy to BNSSG
- The midwifery team will contact you to offer you a first appointment.
- All pregnant women should take folic acid and vitamin D – speak to your local pharmacist for advice.

Choosing to have an abortion
Abortions are usually available free of charge on the NHS.
