Gender describes someone’s gender identity. This may or may not match the gender they were assigned at birth.
It can sometimes be more difficult for people to access the healthcare services they need if they do not identify as a woman. It is important that everyone can access the healthcare services they need and that these services are inclusive to everyone.
All healthcare services should be inclusive and welcoming to all people who need to use them. If there is any additional support you need, it can sometimes be helpful to call a service first to discuss any adjustments that can be made to improve your experience.
This page focuses on supporting people to access health services that are often called ‘Women’s Health Services’, but not all people who need them identify as women.
